Generic Keywords

It was compelling for me, both for its graphic simplicity and for being my first exposure to the concept of science fiction being the “what if?” of science.
It is really hard to find copies of the old promos online with the search terms scifi channel and if. All I found was a rather long What if the dog went to work and the human stayed home? Joanne proved her salt as the daughter of a reference librarian, and was far, far, far more successful:
- a boy in a force-field bubble
- a whole collection of bumpers, including my favourite fantastic creature
- unraveling hair
- transformer puppy (ending incomplete)
- and the more disturbing balloon puppy
- prickly woman and the related puffy man
- the ridiculously adorable helping a penguin cross a lake
- Butterfly Woman and Jack-in-the-Box (both low resolution)
- a very safe crosswalk
Now the real question is: which one serves my purpose best to quickly introduce others to the same “what if?” philosophy of science fiction?
edit: Re: SciFi becoming SyFy
I am with the grousing masses in considering the spelling change unnecessary, marketing-driven, and gimmicky. I strongly doubt they’ll go with “yF” fading into “SyFy,” so their new ad spots are unlikely to be poached by me for educational purposes.

But isn’t it the SyFy (oo trendy) channel now? And don’t they show wrestling of all things?
Much like TLC it has gone downhill. Remember when junkyard wars was on TLC? What is it now? It needs to be renamed the wedding network, or the John and Kate Plus Eight channel. Trash.
